We are familiar with the saying “you are what you eat” meaning, the food and drinks we take into our body have direct effect on our health and well-being. If we fuel our body with the right food, it will give us a better performance. Note, whenever we take in junks, strong drinks and lot of soda, our health suffers.

It was discovered that what we eat have major effects on our body composition and physiology. The genes in virtually all of our cells may influence by the nutrients available to them, according to a new study conducted in yeast cells. Yeast cells are simpler to study than animal models, but they display similar genes and cellular mechanisms to humans. The study unfolded that nutrients released from food led to changes in the way the genes function. The behaviour of genes and the protein molecules produced were influenced by the availability of nutrients to the cell. Certain foods, such as broccoli and some other vegetables, garlic, and onion contains substances that act as histone inhibitors, which essentially block the histone protein. It allows our tumour-suppressor genes to activate and in return fight cancer. Consumption of these foods regularly, naturally support our body’s ability to fight tumours.

The Type of Food We Eat Affects our Bone Strength
The food we take in determine the health of our micro-biome, which in turn shapes our health, influencing our risk of heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, obesity and also bone disease such as Osteoporosis etc. our body houses some 100 trillion bacteria and about 1 quadrillion virus (bacteriophages). Fermented foods are the best route to optimal digestive health, as long as we eat the traditionally made, unheated foods. The key to begin gradually: try eating more vegetables every week.
